Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is a M.U.D.?
A: M.U.D. stands for Municipal Utility District. Municipal Utility Districts are created to provide water and sewer facilities for properties using bonds to pay for the facilities. Property Owners then pay a M.U.D. tax, a property tax with the same bylaws as the County and ISD taxes, to pay off the debt and to finance, purchase, construct, operate and maintain improvements, facilities and plants for water, sewer and drainage.
